(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-96-081
INSPECTION DATE: 6-8-00
OBSERVATIONS

INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ~K-
The Division conducted a joint monitoring inspection of the site with representatives from Teller County planning
department. The site is a small turquoise mining operation located with in the city limits of Cripple Creek, West of the City's
water tanks. Present during the inspection were Jane Manon and Bill Johnson of Teller County and Harriet and David
Graham the operators. The pit area was inspected; it was not active at the time of the inspection. Small ponded water was
noted at the bottom of [he pit from the recent snowmelt and precipitation. Pit walls were stable and no major problem
noted. The operators explained how they mine the turquoise from the small pit. They explained that five-gallon buckets are
used to remove the turquois from the pit area. A small excavator and dozer are used when necessary to remove the
overburden. The area disturbed appears to be as much as was disturbed during the past inspection. Continued the
inspection into the small warehouse where the turquoise is tumbled and polished. The operators explained briefly the
process. The warehouse is not part of the DMG's permit because it also serves as vehicle and other non- mining related
storage for the household. The site is in compliance with the approved permit.
I & E Contat Address
NAME: David Graham
OPERATOR: Bad Bovs of Cripple Creek Mining CO.
STREET: 261 E.
