At
the time of the inspection the weather was cloudy and rained during portions
of the inspection. All snow had melted and the vegetation was greening.
Yesterday it snowed about 4 inches. Present during this inspection was George
Patterson.
Records were checked and were found to be in order.
A dozer was working the overburden stockpile creating ramps for the
scrapers. The mine is mobilizing to start full reclamation of the mine. About
8 scrapers will be working to compete the reclamation by next summer.
George Patterson estimated that it would take 8 continuous months to complete
backfilling and grading. None of the currently graded areas will be topsoiled
this year; the topsoiling will be done next year. A scraper ramp was being
constructed
The 720 pit and surrounding were inspected. No concerns were noted in this
area. Ponds A and B were not discharging. Hay bails have been replaced on
the outslopes of the pond as a supplemental sediment control for runoff from
the pond embankment.
Ponds D and F were not discharging. Ditches were clear and functioning.
Marr Strip June 8, 1993
