(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1995-027
INSPECTION DATE: April 19, 2001
OBSERVATIONS

INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: AIW
This was a normal monitoring inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG along with Robert Vance of Park County Road
and Bridge. The Chapparal Pit is located approximately 20 miles southeast of Hansel, Colorado and approximately 1 mile
south of Elevenmile Resevoir. The area may be described as more ridge valley type topography that is common as South Park
starts to give way to the more mountainous surrounding terrain. The pit is situated on the side of one of these ridges or knobs
and an adjacent pit (M-97-035) is situated over the other ridge flank.
There was a mine identification sign present at the entrance to the site and the permit boundary markers were marked by
aluminum survey caps. It was suggested that the operator may want to mark all corners of the permit area with tee-posts or
some other more clearly visible means as well as installing some line posts. This was suggested because stockpiling ac[iviry
along the west side of the pit had nearly spilled across the permit boundary. The toe of the material stockpile was just about
touching [he west permit boundary line. The rest of the operation is well within the designated boundaries. The operator has
been doing a great job of mining in such a way as to maintain 3H:1 V slopes along the excavation zones and topsoil salvage
operations seemed to be in compliance. Overall the site is very neat and orderly and no problems were identified.
cc: Jim Stevens-DMG
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Robert Vance
OPERATOR: Park County Road and Bridge
STREET: P.O.Box 147
CITY/STATE2IP: Fairplav, CO 80440
^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
