• (Page 2) • <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-79-034 <br />INSPECTION DATE 10-20-98 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This was a pre-operation inspection of the Gardner Gravel Pit conducted by Erica Crosby of the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. Doug Redmond, the operator of the mine, was present during <br />the inspection. Weather conditions on si[e were clear and cool. Ground conditions were dry. A 112 <br />application was filed with the Division in accordance with the last inspection report and the Board <br />Order issued on September 25, 1998. <br />The Gardner Gravel Pit is currently a 110 operation, permitted to affect B acres. She permit is in <br />the process of being converted to a 112 permit with a total area of 40 acres. A 112 conversion <br />notification sign was posted at the mine entrance. Permit boundary signs were also posted around the <br />affected area. The erosion features noted in the previous inspection report have been repaired, <br />seeded and mulched. There are two additional features on the north east side of the pit that should <br />be repaired by the end of next spring, or as soon as weather conditions permit. There were no other <br />changes noted since the previous inspection. <br />The operator should be reminded that in accordance with the Board Order dated September 25, 1998, an <br />interim bond in the amount of $37,750.00 be posted by November 21, 1998 (item #2).
