So,~Ihb'e/~ ~--~i~or~r
6TH. o~ ~
in good condition. There did not appear to be any low spots and no water pooling.
No erosional problems were noted in the ditch at the time of the inspection.
Processing Waste: The refuse pile remains stable. There were some very small rills on
the newly reclaimed slopes of the pile; however, very little sediment has been
deposited in the 100-year ditch around the refuse pile or at the inlet to Pond 4. The
cover crop that was planted on the newly regraded portion of the refuse pile
appears to be growing well.
Reclamation Success: A considerable amount of rain fell on the site the previous day
and evening. The reclaimed slopes have held up very well. With the exception of
the minor rilling noted above on the refuse pile, there were no signs of erosional
problems on any of the other reclaimed slopes (including the portal and facilities
area, truck tunnel and coal stockpile areas and the reclaimed pond 3 area). The
drainage off of these slopes also appeared to flow properly. There were no areas
where water was pooling on any of the reclaimed slopes.
It did not appear that any water had flowed through the Magpie Creek permanent
diversion even though there was a considerable amount of rain the prev ious day
and evening.
