~:
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-~nm-ron
INSPECTION DATE: A rill 7007
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: r;Rs
This was apre-operational inspection. The City of Greeley has applied for a new 112 (c) permit on a portion of the
current Western Mobile permit area. Upon approval of the Greeley application, the Division will release Western Mobile
from that portion of Permit M 1977-081 which the City of Greeley takes over. At the time of this inspection there was no
active mining taking place at the site. The portion of the Western Mobile Northern permit area which the City of Greeley
wishes to permit is on the west side of the permit area. This part of the property has not been mined since approximately
1986. At that time the slopes were mined at no greater than 3H:1H and this portion of the site is currently well stabilized
with perennial grasses and various species of trees. The area of the new permit application has not been physically
marked, but is easily identified by the survey markers for the proposed slurry wall and by the perimeter roads around the
mined ponds.
The only problem noted was the presence of some Russian olive trees on the site, this problem was noted by the West
Greeley Soil Conservation District, and the City of Greeley is currently working on a plan to control these trees.
The inspector did not identify any on-site problems which would preclude the approval of the permit application to the
City of Greeley, once the Russian olive issue is resolved.
Cc: Carl Mount - DMG, Via electronic transmission
Pam Acre - Applegate Group
Kevin Pearst -Western Mobile Northern, Inc.
I & E ContactAddress
NAME: Todd Williams
OPERATOR: City of Greeley Water & Sewer Dept.
STREET: 1100 10~h St. 3~4 Floor
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Greeley CO 80631
cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
