All water areas were frozen over.
Carry over items from previous inspections included the following items:
• Maintenance work required on some check dams of the "String of Pearls" was identifed during the
Division inspection of 19 November 2004. No open water was visible, and sediment
ponds appeared to be functioning properly, from distant observations points about the mine perimeter.
Sample sites in streams about the site were frozen over with snow cover. No water quality
measurements were made.
Slides and DainaQe
Maintenance required to restore a number of check dams to design configuration was noted during the
Division inspection of 19 November 2004. This work consists largely of relocating pieces of riprap in
the spillway crest sections. See a summary of maintenance work identified in the 19 November 2004
inspection report. The features were covered with snow at the time of this inspection. No maintenance
work was visible from distant observation points.
Inspection of 3 December 2004, page 3 of 4 pages, BGW
