Erica Crosby conducted [he inspection. Erica noted an apparent violation of our 110 permit, that
being operation outside our pemtilted area on an additional area if approximately three acres. We are
scheduled to be heard before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on Wednesday, December 16, 1998
In our corrective actions section of the inspectors report is- the requirement that a 112 permit be
submitted by December I5, 1998. We would like to ask that the Division consider giving us a 30-day
extension to this deadline for the following reasons:
I. We have a very small staff that is currently committed to completing the County 1999 annual
budget, which by smnrte must be adopted by December I5, 1998.
2. The County has a union representing our road and bridge employees, and our limited staff is
invoh•ed in contract negotiations for 1999.
3. Lake County did not receive [he inspection report until October 29, 1993. From the date of
. eceipt of the notice for corrective acrion ^~dl the deadline of Decemher I5; 199R is only 6
weeks and 5 days.
A. All the County Commissioners, myself, and our Road and Bridge Superintendent have been
scheduled to attend [he Colorado Counties Inc. winter meeting starting next week. Given this
time out of the office, along with the Thanksgiving holiday, seriously affects our scheduling.
Please favorably consider our request for athirty-day extension of time for submission of a 112
permit. I can be contacted at the number listed below if 1 may be able to provide you with any additional
information.
Regard
ti~~
Kent Hager
County Administrator
COMMISSIONERS
Earl Boeve • James E.
