COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action <br />This was an aerial inspection flown by Harry Ranney of the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining, and Safety on September 25. 2007 Oblique aerial photos were <br />reviewed m the office by Kent Gorham pf the Division on October 11.2007. This former <br />mountaintop removal operation is now reclaimed and has achieved a Phase I bond release <br />for most areas. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />All ponds around the site held modest amounts of water due indicating good late summer <br />moisture conditions. Pond 9 appeared to be the pond holding the most water and closest to <br />any future discharge No evidence of damage or erosion to pond embankments and <br />spillways was noted m any of the photographs <br />Excess Spoil :.~,t„;" ~- : ~ fir:", ,::~ <br />'~sa , ,, <br />Three excess spoil fills were ,,,~,.,,_ ~ : ~• ,~," <br />constructed during mining and f a <br />reclamaLon at this site.
