All trees appeared to be in good
health and were planted in appropriate locations and densities.
The berm geometry appeared to be ok, but the vegetative cover is lacking over a majority of the berm. Some of this
observation may be caused by the time of year. However, if this berm was not seeded this past fall with the tall wheatgrass
species committed to in the permit, then the operator will need to apply this seed when conditions are favorable this coming
spring. Measures, such as mulch application and possibly fertilization, will need to be taken to provide a greater chance for
successful vegetation establishment. DMG should be notified upon completion of the berm revegetation tasks through
submittal of a written report that details the tree planting and berm revegetation measures taken and the dates these measures
were completed.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3id Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243368.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME Richard Johnson ^ BL
OPERATOR United Comp pies of Mec_a County.
