Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_ia~u-n~asr
INSPECTION DATE: 1]-~R-ns INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: inn
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was for the purpose of monitoring Lincoln County's compliance with the permit, regulations and
the Act. Don Blake, Lincoln County Land Use Administrator, represented the county.
The permit area is properly signed and marked.
Mining has ceased at this pit. The county reclaimed the site in the past, however, the re-vegetation effort
tailed. The pit side slopes are graded but severely eroded. The topsoil and other reclamation materials that
were used for the reclamation effort were deposited on the pit floor. There is no positive drainage from the pit
and the soil has not been lost. The pit side slopes require regarding. The County should then excavate the soil
material off the pit floor and replace it on the slopes for final reclamation. It appears that overland flow from
outside the pit may be adding to the side slope erosion. If the County continues to experience erosion of the
pit slopes, the County should consider diverting overland flows away from the pit perimeter to a safe outlet. The
addition of a diversion to the permit area would first require a technical revision of the permit.
There: are no problems of this permit area
I & E Contact Address
NAME:
OPERATOR: Lincoln Counf~
STREET: P (~ Rnx 39
CITY/STATE/ZIP: uuga, Cn RnA9t
Cc: Harry Posey via a-mail
