INSPECTION REPORT -2-
FIIE N0. 74-4
GATE: u Y 983
6. The southern most gulch area has a scrap stockpile across the drainage area
The hillside north of the gulch is steeper than 2:1, barren of vegetation,
eroding and apparently ready for final grade and permanent revegetation.
No sedimentation problem exists due to the presence of a ;acre (approx.)
settling basin.
While it is apparent that a considerable amount of overburden exists on the
site. The operator has only accomplished a minimal amount of stockpiling.
.In Mr. Hickman's March 22, 1982 letter, he states that a total of 157,106
cubic yards of soil will be stockpiled in Jackson Gulch and that the maximum
amount of disturbance at any one time is 97 acres. The 1983 annual report
indicates 104 acres have been affected during the year. Exactly where is
the 157,106 cubic yards of soil? To prevent loss, the operatoi° must place
this topsoil in a stockpile and protect this soil from wind and water erosion.
Please proved a map showing the location of the stockpile or p files and the
quantity to be place in each. Also, please provide a timetable for carrying
out this salvage.
The operator must
built as outlined
Please include a
the timetable for
'JBM:PVOClpJh
address why water retention ponds No. 1 and 2 have not been
in the amendment application submitted on February 1, 1982.
map showing where these ponds will be constructed along with
construction.
/ep
(1/83)
Doc.
