III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Hamilton Mine for the month of February, 1998.
RECORDS: Records were not inspected as the mine manager could not be reached to gain
access to the files, however, since past inspections have always been satisfactory, it is unlikely
that any significant problems would be encountered.
ROADS: The roads are in satisfactory condition and do not require any maintenance.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: All ditches and culverts are clear and capable of functioning as
designed. Pond B was muddy from recent sogwmelt. Pond A had a trace of snow and water in
but it was not discharging.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The site's reclamation vegetation is unchanged but this could change
this spring as the site was recently reseeded with a supplemental seed mixture.
i
