III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Yoast Mine conducted by Harry Rarmey of the DMG. Aerial <br />photographs were taken on November 23, 2005. Weather conditions were cleaz and sunny at the <br />time of the flight. Mike Boulay of the DMG reviewed the aerial photographs. <br />Roads <br />The site was mostly snow covered. Haul Roads A and B were visible in the photos. These haul <br />roads were free of snow cover and appeazed to be well maintained. <br />Hvdrologic Balance <br />Sedimentation Ponds 012 and 013 were visible in the photographs. The surface of the ponds <br />were partially frozen. Pond inlets and embankments were snow covered. No problems were <br />noted at any of these sediment pond locations. <br />Backfill & Grading <br />The Wotf Creek Pit azeas in Yoast South were free of snow cover. It was appazent from the <br />phol:os that backfilling and grading operations have been underway at these locations. The <br />drag;line was visible in the Yoast South Area in the southern portion of the Wolf Creek Pit. The <br />dragline did not appeaz to be operating at the time of the flight. The South Valora Pit, Scraper <br />Pit, and North Pit were all visible in the photographs, These pit locations were snow covered. <br />The former pit areas appeared stable and no problems were noted in the aerial photographs. <br />
