• (Page 2) •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-82-154
INSPECTION DATE 11-12-98 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
OBSERVATIONS
This was a partial inspection of the Farnsworth Gravel Pit No. 2, conducted as part of the Division's routine monitoring program,
and to collect information on current site conditions, in preparation to recalculate and update the reclamation cost estimate. The
recalculation, using current costs, will be used to determine if the current financial warranty is adequate. The recalculated cost
estimate will be forthcoming.
The operator indicated that boundary markers were installed after the last inspection of this site, but trespassers had removed the
new markers. The operator must re-install the permit boundary markers to make the permit boundary readily identifiable. These
markers will need to be placed accurately and installed adequately, so they can only be removed with substantial effort.
Photographs of compliance with this corrective action must be submitted to the Division upon completion. The completion date is
seT for December 31, 1998. The boundary that is in the river channel is not required to be marked.
The operator indicated that the river channel was recently surveyed. The operator uses the river channel survey to determine
how many feet of gravel he can mine Ito what depthl. Please submit the data from the river channel survey to the Division, for
future reference.
This is the case reported by all the instream gravel operators that were contacted, in this area. The operator indicated that it
appeared he could mine approximately six feet deep this season.
E/2 SE/4 Sec. 1, T14S, R92W, 6th P.M.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Patricia Farnsworth
OPERATOR Farnsworth Construction Co.
STREET 1425 4005 lane
CITY/STATE/ZIP Paonia.
