III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
F~~ TwM ~~ C--gl-o-~B
~ T~ poi ~~
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Twin Pines Mine conducted by Jim Stark of CDMG.
The bond for this site was been forteited after reclamation was completed. The
weather was warm and sunny and the ground was dry.
The portal area is well vegetated and in good condition. The upper part of the road
to the portal area is showing some minor erosional problems (minor rills) but is in
overall good shape. This upper part of the road is also beginning to fill in with
vegetation. The remalning highwall still appears to be stable and in good condition.
The remaining sediment pond was dry.
The coal sales/tipple area was also well vegetated and in good condition. The pond
contained a small amount of water and appeared to be well vegetated and in
good condition. The access road is a county road, which was well maintained and
in good condition. There has been very little grazing at this site so far this summer
and the vegetation is looking (unusually) good.
Overall both areas at Twin Pines are in good condition.
