• (Page 2)
MINE ID f OR PROSPECTING ID ~` M-74-41
INSPf.CTION DATE 07/31/96 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS CLK
OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were made on during a routine inspection of this 49 acre 112 pit.
1. No sign was posted with the DMG permit numbers; while the boundary markings appear~to be
adequate, a sign should be posted either at the entrance to the pit or at the office.
2. The latest map in the documentation folder ie slightly inaccurate; incorrect street names
are drawn on it. Please submit a new, up-to-date map of the Bite, including permit and
property boundaries, roads, and the office's location ae well as natural landmarks (such as
the creek) within 30 days.
3. Approximately 20 acres of the 49 acre site are currently disturbed. The main pit looks
east toward the creek, with a 600' highwall approximately 30'-40' high going from north to
south across the Bite. No reclamation work has begun. The other 29 acres are serving ae
equipment storage, and have not yet been disturbed for mining purposes (i.e., the topsoil in
this area ie intact).
4. An estimated 16,130 CY of topsoil are necessary for reclaiming the current level of
disturbance at the site. Currently, there are approximately 20,000 CY of topsoil stored
oneite---more than enough to complete reclamation of the pit.
5. Asphalt is being recycled oneite. A Technical Revision must be submitted to the permit
to allow this. The TR should include: the amount to be stored oneite at any one time;
location of the asphalt; and the reclamation plans for either hauling this asphalt offsite
or burying it under overburden. This TR should be submitted within 30 days.
6. Setbacks from the creek and adjacent properties are being observed ae required.
The financial warranty for this site will be recalculated after the Technical Revision ie
submitted.
I & E Contact Address cc: Carl B.
