QI. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during
the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the
facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Hamilton Mine for the month of June, 2001.
RECORDS: Records were not inspected but as they have been satisfactorily maintained in the past, the
Division will assume they are still in satisfactory condition.
ROADS: The section of road along the Area 1 access road of the mine has newly installed waterbars and
the road should be far better off due to this installation. All other sections of the road appear stable.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: All ditches and culverts are clear and capable of functioning as designed.
Pond A was dry at the time of the inspection, Pond B had a trace of water in it but was not discharging.
Both ponds are capable of functioning as designed
RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The site's vegetation is doing outstanding as well as the undisturbed
areas but in the next two or three years, it is likely that a phase two bond release could be applied for.
