III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the inspection. Comments also <br />describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />On April 19, 1999, William J. Carter, Dan Hernandez, Byron Walker, and Joe Dudash from the Division of Minerals and Geology, <br />performed a complete inspection of Coal Ridge Mine. The weather was clear and warm during this inspection. <br />Aker April 30, 1999 William J. Carter will retire and at that time Coal Ridge Mine will become the responsibility o(Bryon Walker, P.E. All <br />communications should be directed to Mr. Waker. <br />Availability of Records: <br />See "DMG Availability of Records" auached <br />Signs and Markers: <br />• Disturbed area markers were not observed and need to be properly placed before next month's inspection. <br />• The topsoil pile sign is missing on the topsoil pile just east of the entrance to the site. <br />• A Permit Boundary sign was observed on the north side of [he County road - is this the actual permit boundary or is it <br />on the south side of [he road'? <br />Hvdroloeic Balance: <br />• Ditches were found to be in good and stable condition. <br />• Culverts C 2 and C still need to he cleaned at the outlet end. Please have this completed by the next inspection. <br />Tousoil: <br />The topsoil piles appear to he stable and well vegetated. <br />Reveeelation: <br />Vegetation is progressing as expected. <br />Slides and Damaee: <br />No active slides, slumping or other erosion was observed during this inspection. <br />Otbers• <br />1. Please be aware that the thistles are now in the rosette stage at this time and control should be performed before bolting has <br />occurred. <br />2. The maps available appear to be out of date and such items as the culverts that have been removed or never existed can not be <br />located. It is imperative that a new correct map be located or developed as soon as possible. <br />
