All
of the leach pad construction approved in Amendment # 8, by the MLRD BOARD,
IN AUGUST 2000, is now completed. The Phase IVC pad construction, the last
of the pad area to be constructed under Amendment # 8 was completed the
first week of October. The certification report for the phase IVC pad area
has been submitted to the Division on 10/19/04 and still under review. The
frequency of inspection was changed from weekly, during construction season
to bi-monthly for the winter season.
Present during the inspection were, Mark Tidquist and Tim Comer of CC&V.
Inspected the Phase IVC leach pad area. A very small amount of ore along
the south side has been loaded, as verbally approved by DMG during the
certification review period. No solution will be applied until the Division
gives an approval and acceptance of the certification report. In addition
to weekly inspection, during construction a weekly construction report was
provided each week, by the operator, in addition to the on site QA.QC, by
Golder and associates, the design engineers. The Division does not
anticipate any problems with the report and construction sequence. DMG
plans to complete the certification review process as soon as possible.
Inspected the PHASE I,II, IIT AND IV leach pad areas and collected the
following readings from the High and Low volume solution collection
transducers.
Phase I High volume solution collection transducer #1 was recorded at
32.7 # 2 was at41.2 and # 3 was at 37.9.Low volume #1 was recorded at .22
and # 2 was at .63. Piezometer for the pond was measured at 37.6 feet.
Phase II and III High Volume solution collection transducer # 4 was
recorded at 35.4 # 5 was at 37.2 and #6 was at 36.8. Low volume # 1 was at
.13 and # 2 was at .68. Piezometer for the pond was recorded at 38.2.
Phase IV High Volume solution collection transducer # 7 was recorded at
22.3 # 8 was at 21.8 #9 was at 22.4 and 10 was at 22.7. Low volume
transducer # 1 was recorded at 15.1 and # 2 was at 18.4.
Inspected the external pond, it was holding some water, while in the area,
recorded the following readings from the Low Volume solution collection
transducers. # 1 was recorded at 12.3 and # 2 was at 10.2.
NOTE: Transducer readings for Phase IV low volume and External pond are in
inches of hydrostatic head. All other readings are in feet of hydrostatic
head. Inspected the under-drain, both the flinch pipe and south under-drain
were discharging, no problem noted.
