Recent <br />larks wish fhe landowner have enabled Roul! County to mine this site again, <br />The Red Rock Pit has been partially mined and almost no topsoil has been saved Photos and observations of the site still <br />indicate that plants grow best on the brownish to grayish surface material and all of this material encountered in future mining <br />otforts should be saved to help with reGamatwn of the situ following mining The reddish material that s being mined does not <br />have substantial vegetation on it al this Time even after several growing seasons with no mining (see picture #1) <br />There has been almost no change to the pit since it was last inspected nn June 5, 2005. Routl County may have plans to mine <br />Ihis area in the near future.
