(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_to~~_ett5
INSPECTION DATE: tnm6/OS INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: 4 IW
OBSERVATIONS
This was a normal monitoring inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG along with Clarence Stevenson of
Baca County. The site is located approximately 18 miles south of Pritchett, Colorado. The pit is situated along a
rise in between East and West Sand Canyon approximately 2 miles north of where they confluence into the
main Sand Canyon drainage. The operator converted this site from a 1 lOc permit into a 1 12c permit in 2~1.
The site was properly identified and the permit boundaries are clearly delineated by a livestock fence. Since
the conversion has occurred, mining has been generally moving to the south and east. The slopes are being
mined at 3H:1 Y and topsoil had recently been removed in advance of mining. If this topsoil is not replaced
within one year it must be seeded to stabilize and protect this resource. There was a small product stockpile on
the floor of the pit. The north end of this site is an un-reclaimed pre-law disturbance. It was suggested that even
though the county is not responsible for reclaiming this area, i~ would be certainly help the overall appearance
as they begin reclaiming their area if they would at least re-grade and seed the pre-law slopes in an ottempt to
provide long term stability.
This concluded the inspection.
18, E Contact Address
NAME: Trov Crane
OPERATOR: Baca Cnunty
STREET: 7d1 Mnin StraPt
CITY/STATE/ZIP: S~rir~tialri Cn R107s
cc: t CE
t BL
t FS
t HW
T HMWMD (CH)
I' SE
t WQCD (CHI
T OTHER
