Ourslope stability analyses indicate thatthe existing slope is reasonably near
a FOS of 1.0. Field observation confirms this analyses. Slope failures would likely
occur if material is removed from the toe of the existing slope or weight is added to
the toe of the slope. We determined that the pit slopes need to be laid back to a slope
of 1.6 to 1 (horizontal to vertical) to obtain a FOS of approximately 1.25. A part of our
analysis is shown on Figures 1 and 2.
We appreciate the opportunity to work with you on this project.
