Rick Myers and Jason McGraw of
Robinson Brick Company accompanied me on the inspection.
The complaint was that Robinson Brick had removed topsoil from a portion of land where a new clay pit is to be
opened. The topsoil, according to the complaint has been gushed to within 6 feet of a neighbor's fence for
about 100 feet along the fence to a point where the fence adioins his property. The complainant had the
understanding that a mining protect must not come to within 200 feet of the adioining property.
been vegetated by the operator and appear to be stable. The grasses planted are small but establishing very
well. No damage to the fences or property of adioinina property owners was observed.
The permit was reviewed and there is no requirement that topsoil stockpiles or anv other mining related
disturbance remain anv set distance from the permit boundary. which is the property line.
The 200 feet limit the complainant refers to is probably the requirement of aermif aopBeants to identify
permanent valuable man-made structures within 200 feet of affected land, the stability of which will be
adversely affected by the mining operation. The fences of adiacent property owners and their property are not
being adversely affected by the topsoil stockpile.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Rick Myers
OPERATOR: Robinson Brick Com any
STREET: 1645 West hartmonth Avenues
CITY/STATE/ZIP: nenver cnRmin-ISnR
cc: r CE
t BL
t FS
I' H W
I' HMWMD (CH)
I' SE
I' WQCD (CH)
I' OTHER- Harry Posey- DMG
t John Navratil
