Seneca II Mine Phase I bond release, pQ. 4
We began at road E-1, cross section #1, where we measured a 23' width and 4% slope. E-1, cross
section #2 was 20' wide and 5% slope. F road, cross section F-F' was 20' wide and 5% slope.
C road, cross section C-C' was 20' wide and 7% slope. The South road, cross section S-SR' was
21' wide and 6% slope. $ road, east of the Wedge Impoundment, was 24' wide and 2% slope.
This completed verification of the haul road cross sections, and completed the OSM portion of
the field inspection.
We held a close out meeting August 10 and Mr. Boulay did a thorough job of describing our
observations and the several erosion areas noted above. We emphasized trying to use hand
maintenance for the erosion areas to the maximum extent possible to avoid unnecessary
equipment impacts to reclaimed areas. We determined that the East Wedge Pit Area as described
above is not eligible for Phase I bond release. We discussed options for monitoring and/or
stabilizing the small slump above the Pecoco pond, and SCC should propose a plan for this area.
This concluded the OSM portion of this Phase I bond release inspection.
Please address any questions concerning this report to Henry Austin, Senior Reclamation
Specialist, at haustin(c~osmre.gov or to (303) 844-1400 x1466.
