page 2/2 <br />Deserado C-81-018 <br />24 Mar 04 <br />Processing Waste: -Refuse Pile RP-2/3/4 is now being used for active placement and <br />spreading of refuse. There was no water pooling on the top of the pile and the pile <br />appeared to be well compacted and stable. There was some minor rilling on the <br />eastern side slopes of the pile. <br />- Refuse Pile RP-1 was well vegetated and appeared to remain stable at the time of <br />the inspection. <br />-The Operator has completed the stockpiling of refuse on pile RP-Sa. The stockpile <br />on the southeast portion of the pile appears to be smaller than the pile last year. <br />Refuse pile RP-5a appeared to be stable and well compacted and there was no <br />water pooling on the top of the pile. There were no problems with fugitive dust at the <br />time of the inspection. <br />Support Facilities: -The B-Vent shaft area was stable and in good condition at the <br />time of the inspection. <br />-The Halandras landfill area was stable and in good condition at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />- Drill pads 310130-22 and 310130-23 have been reclaimed. The piles were stable, <br />with no signs of any erosion at the time of the inspection. Both of the exploration <br />holes have been sealed and properly marked. There was vegetation beginning to <br />grow on the pads but it was too early to tell exactly what it is. <br />- The WMVS pad and water tank/water treatment plant pads were all stable and in <br />good condition. <br />-The Slot storage area was stable and in good condition. <br />-The loadout structure was in good condition at the time of the inspection. There <br />was no "co-mingling" of rail and mine equipment at the loadout loop at the time of <br />the inspection. <br />Topsoil: The topsoil stockpiles along the haul road to the refuse pile, the conveyor <br />corridor, beside the vent shafts, at the loadout and at the Halandras landfill were all <br />well vegetated and properly marked. <br />
