III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include tliscussion of <br />observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any <br />enforcement actions taken during, the inspection and the facts or evidence <br />supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. This former, contour <br />strip operation is bond revoked. Inspection frequency is quarterly, <br />with one complete inspection each year. Ground conditions on this <br />day were dry and the weather was hot. <br />Roads <br />The steep section of the road leading south into Section 22 remains <br />ir. good condition after repair work conducted late in 2004. <br />hydrologic Balance <br />A11 ponds throughout the site <br />were holding moderate amcunts <br />of water. Given the murky <br />appearance of the pond water, <br />storm runoff likely occurred <br />in the last few days fzem <br />prevailing afternoon <br />thundershowers. <br />Fonds 22-P5, show at right, <br />was full to the invert of the <br />small riser pipe. The <br />embankment is part of the <br />two-track road leading back <br />into section 22. <br />through the county road box <br />delta upstream. <br />Pond 22-P6, shcwn at left, was <br />also holding water to the top of <br />"~~ discharge pipe.
