Binns, Janet
From: Ray Barker[rbarker@epkbenefits.comj
Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2004 12:05 AM
To: daniel.hernandez@state.co.us; janet.binns@state.co.us
Cc: mhook@fghr.com
Subject: FW: DMG Points of discussion
From: Brad Barker [mailto:bbarker188@earthlink.net]
Sent: Mon 2/2/04 9:37 PM
To: Ray Barker
Subject: DMG Points of discussion
Dan and Janet
A request I have is in relation to our property in Colorado and following upon the inforation sent yesterday. I don't want
RAG to do anything other than what they originally planned to do in a reclamation plan that RAG originally submitted.
Eventually, my plans are to utilize the property in ways other than strictly agricultural. However the way the land was to
be put back together as agricultural land is exactly the way I would like it to be, which means I am not asking RAG to do
anything other than what they had originally promised to do with the land. Some questions have been raised about the
maps I sent they all came from the reclamation maps sent to me on a CD. Below I have gone back and located the
names from the maps for your reference.
Subsequent to the emails and pictures I sent yesterday. I received a call from Colorado (7pm monday night), and was an
informed that the scope of work on the property has even more magnified - to the point where they have dirt stacked up
against the previously untouched rock walls above the mine opening. They are also apparently cutting away ground,
which has previously never been disturbed by the Mining operations. All this activity only heightens my concerns over
what RAG is doing and how it is impacting my property.
Again I will reiterate that it is not my desire to prevent reclamation, however I truly do not believe that what is going on at
the mine site, above and beyond trespass, can be considered normal and prudent reclamation. I do not mean to sound
inpatient, but I am concerned that the damage being done may prove difficult or impossible to correct at a later date.
Again I believe the work they are doing is not congruent with the original reclamation plan, but if for some reason I have
dated material or am wrong in my beliefs, I most certainly like to request that the reclamation to continue in a different
manner.
Below are the maps I used in the email I sent to you and Janet Monday morning.
