III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Hamilton Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the DRMS. <br />Aerial photographs were taken on Februazy 22, 2007 at approximately 2:36 p.m. Weather <br />conditions were cleaz and sunny at the time of the flight. Mike Boulay of the DRMS reviewed <br />the aerial photographs. <br />Four photos were taken during the flyover. The entire Mine Area 1 and Sedimentation Ponds A <br />and B were visible in the photographs. The mine site appeared mostly dry with only a small <br />amount of snow cover. <br />Roads leading to Mine Area 1 and to the sedimentation ponds appeazed to be dry and well <br />maintained. There was no activity noted at the site during the flyover. <br />Sedimentation Ponds A and B were viewed. Pond B was retaining a significant amount of water <br />but did not appeaz to be dischazging. Pond A was dry. Pond inlets and embankments appeazed <br />to be stable and no problems were noted at either sediment pond locations. No problems or areas <br />of concern were noted in any of the aerial photographs. <br />
