Box 649 Alamosa, Co. 81101 (719) 5895671
Mr. Bob Oswald
Division of Minerals and Geology
701 Camino Del Rio, Room 125
Durango, CO 81301
RE: SMITH PIT M1977-053
Dear Bob:

Attached herewith are the photos of the area that did contain the storage of the
waste oil barrels. We transported the barrels to Alamosa and deposited the
waste oil in our waste oil tank there. Thermofluids comes by regularly and hauls
this waste oil away.
As discussed we removed the dirty soil from the area and placed it along the
access road into the staging area. It will have regular heavy truck traffic across it
and the trucks then head up the hill out of the pit. You will note in the pictures
that we moved the green storage trailer to another location in the pit and cleaned
up the entire area.
This work was performed the Saturday following your inspection, 6/17 and the
pictures were taken on 6/20/2006.
We have implemented another procedure that will require all waste oil from the
pit to be transported to the central tank in Alamosa immediately for proper
disposal through Thermofluids.
If you have any question, contact myself or Edward at your convenience.
Sincerely,
ASPHALT CONSTRUCTORS, INC.
By:
Todd A.
