A site inspection of the Jenkins Site was made as part of the Division's 4-year inspection program. The site Is located <br />approximately 3 miles southwest of Superior. Present during the inspection was Mr. Glenn Carriere of the City of <br />Boulder's Open Space program. The operator and permitee of the Jenkins Site is the City of Boulder. <br />2. The Jenkins Site is permitted for a total of 227.0 acres. A significant portion of the Jenkins Site has been reclaimed to <br />rangeland as specified in the permit. The only remaining disturbance is a small 1 acre borrow area in the northern portion <br />of the permit area. The operator is currently in the process of backfilling disturbed slopes to a 3:1 configuration using <br />inert fill materials brought in from sources outside the Jenkins Site. The operator was approved for bac~lling with such <br />materials per Rule 3.1.5(9) on August 7, 2000. The area south of Coal Creek was inspected from the north side of the <br />Creek due to limited access and inclement weather. Mr. Carriere indicated that Boulder County has made significant <br />progress in grading, topsoiling, and revegetating remaining disturbances in this portion of the permit area. No official <br />request for release of reclamation responsibility has been made for any portion of the Jenkins Site. <br />3. Signs and markers were posted as required by Rule 3.1.12. <br />4. There is no financial warranty required as the operator is a municipality. <br />5.
