Present during the inspection of the site were
Nathan Barton, representing the operator, and Andy Moore of the Division.
The area ie approximately 5 acres in size. It lies along the east aide ~~f the crest of a
hogback ridge. The eloping of the area looks good, and the vegetation ie coming along.
However, there are some areas where there ie not much growth, and there are a few areas of
minor rill erosion. The operator should repair the erosion in the near futcire, before spring
and summer storms have a chance to make it worse. It might be a good idea to do some minor
spot reseeding, too; this could be broadcast seeded and, ideally, hand-raked afterward.
There is an area just to the south where there ie some undisturbed grown<9. This area has
bedrock at or near the surface; it is somewhat rocky with scattered shrubs and grass clumps.
I advised Mr. Barton to let another growing season pass and then reevaluate the area before
considering requesting a release. The area is looking good, and it compares well with the
neighboring undisturbed area; however, the grasses should be a little better established in
some areas, especially where there are signs of potential erosion problems.
I ~ E Contact Address
NAME Mr. Nathan A.
