III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the Hamilton Mine for the month of February, 2001. Most of the recent <br />snowfall has melted and the site is satisfactory with the exception noted below. <br />RECORDS: Records were inspected and found to be satisfactory. See page 5 of this report for further <br />details. <br />ROADS: The section of road along the Area 1 access road of the mine is deteriorating due to vehicular <br />traffic during times when the road is muddy The installation of water bars on the west side of the mine 1 <br />area road still needs to accomplished. All other sections of the road appear stable. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: All ditches and culverts are clear and capable of functioning as designed. <br />Pond A was dry at the time of the inspection, Pond B had about one foot of standing water and snow in <br />it but was not discharging. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The site's vegetation is doing well and cattle are grazing on last falls <br />growth. <br />
