III. Comments/Compliance
This was a complete inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on the morning of
Thursday, October 12, 2006. This site was quiet and deserted.
At the East Mine, the south-facing slopes were wet from the recent rains. There was no sign
of instability
There was no evidence of erosion at the bottom of the slope. A berm remains along much
of the length of the slope between the reclaimed area and the river. That berm remains in
tact and has not been breeched, so there is no evidence of any sediment reaching the river
from the site.
The ditches contained a great deal of water.
A trailer with an access road has been set up on the East mine site.
The slope at the middle mine was stable with no erosion, both above and below the road.
The west mine showed excellent vegetative cover, especially with rabbitbrush, The pond
embankments were stable and the pond bottom contained a foot or more of water.
