III. Comments/Compliance
This was a partial inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on January 11, 2005.
Weather was partly cloudy and extremely windy, with blowing snow. The mine site was
deserted and quiet.
There was 3-4 inches of snow on the main mine site. The road was snow-covered with
drifts, but the ground was frozen under the snow and the road was passable.
Pond E was filled with drifted snow. The dam was stable.
Pond F was filled with drifted snow. The dam was stable. The baffles were standing at the
entrance to the pond. Willows stuck out of the snow around the normal high-water mark.
Pond G was dry. The dam was stable.
The sign at the entry does not reflect the current location of the records. This needs to be
up-dated. The gate was locked and secure.
The Pit 1 area was stable, with no erosion visible. Vegetation was visible through the snow.
Signs on the topsoil piles for ponds F and G were not found and appear to have been
knocked down. Please erect the topsoil signs again on these remaining piles.
At the loadout area, the road was drifted with snow, but in good condition beneath and
driveable. The gate was locked. The signs need up-dated. Someone had bent and defaced
the signs. The yard area was filled with blowing and drifting snow. The pond was frozen
over and drifted with snow. The dam was stable. The ditch around the loadout area was
clear of debris and contained snow. The remaining shop building was open.
