May ~ 1999
Cripple Creek b, Victor Mining Co.
Victor, CO 80860
Dear Sirs:
The Cripple Creek ~ Victor Mining Co. is a private, for-profit
company. They have a permit to blast on their property.
They do not have a permit or a right to shake a building not on
their property. We have never granted and did revoked any right,
real or implied for the mining company to shake our building
located at 114 South Third St.,Victor, CO on April 19, in person
to a mining company representative.
Since the date of April 19, the mining company has shook our
building S. (~hrea) more times. April 22, April 28, April 29. ~ti~uy ti ~~iay 5
5 r,v~
We do not believe that the Cripple Creek b Victor Mining Co.
has the right to impact private property not under their control.
We have been telling the Mining Company not to shake our building
since at least 1994. They have placed monitors on our property,
none of which have ever recorded anything. At least 3 (three)
mining company employees have been in our building during a blast
and have felt the building shake.
The mining company told us that they were modifying
the blasting after our April 19th discussion. This modification
has not made any difference, as t-kr~c more blasts have been
felt. F~v~-
Enclosed are dates and times of the blasts we have felt in our
building since 1994 to present. Also enclosed is a copy of a
letter we delivered to several managers at the Cripple Creek S
Victor Mining Co. on April 3, regarding our concern about the
blasting with the excessive snow load on the buildings in Victor
after the big snow storm of April 29, 30, May 1.
We xere in this building before this mining company came to town,
before they started blasting. This is a personal property rights
issue and a civil liberties issue.
We have a right not to have our building shaken.
Respeccfuliy,
Samuel C. Morrison Karen S.
