III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action <br />This was an aerial inspection flown by Harry Ranney of the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology (CDMG). Kent Gorham of the CDMG reviewed ten oblique aerial photographs <br />in the office on April 20th. This former underground mine is reclaimed. Remaining bwldings <br />and structures are approved to remain as permanent features. Ground conditions appeared <br />wet m places due to melting snow from a storm on April 10'" <br />Hvdrok <br />The sediment pond appeared to <br />hold water over most of its <br />surface area. The embankment <br />and emergency spillway <br />appeared normal and no <br />evidence of recent discharge <br />through the emergency spillway <br />was evident. The clean water <br />ditch adjacent to the pond and <br />sediment control ditches leading <br />to the pond also appeared in <br />good condition, Any recent <br />runoff appears to have occurred <br />without incident <br />Processmg Waste <br />The <br />approximate <br />extent of the <br />refuse pile is <br />outlined in <br />yellow on the <br />photo to the <br />right. Wet <br />areas along <br />the refuse <br />slope are <br />likely due to <br />melting of <br />drifted snow <br />but could be se.-inun~~~ ~ec~;s No signrficant seep or spiuiy na, uc_ ~ ,t _~_~~~ ~~~~~i ~ ~~. ~~, <br />quarterly mspecUons conducted by the operator or dunng routine, monthly. CDMG <br />inspections. Vegetation appears to be greening-up for the season and cattle were not <br />evident on the reclaimed area in any of the photographs taken. <br />
