III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Coal Ridge Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of DMG. No <br />company representative was present during the inspection. The Coal Ridge Mine is in reclamation <br />only status. Weather conditions on site were overcast and raining. Ground conditions were muddy. <br />Signs & Markers A new sign has been added at the mine entrance which reads; <br />Mining and Reclamation Permit <br />C-84-065 is on file at the offices of the <br />Division of Minerals 8 Geology <br />1313 Sherman St. Rm 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />(303) 866-3567 <br />Roads The road leading into the Coal Ridge Mine was wet, but appeared to be in good repair. <br />Hvdrolopic Balance The sediment pond was dry, and no recent discharge was noted. Diversion <br />ditches leading into the sediment pond were inspected. A breach roughly 3' wide and 3' high was <br />noted at the intersection of ditch #5 and ditch #6. No sediment was deposited outside this breach and <br />there were no erosion features. The mine was notified of this maintenance issue on April 22 and <br />repairs were made on April 23. The remaining ditches on site were in good repair. <br />
