The slump resulted in a scarp 400 feet or more in length and approximately 4 feet in height. A flow
of approximately 15-20 gpm was noted discharging from the toe of the slide during the April inspection; flow
appeared to be somewhat less than that on May 30. The operator completed repairs to the section of fence at
the north end of the fenced aspen planting area that had been damaged by the slide in late May. Flow was still
emanating from the toe of the slide during inspections on June 14/15, and July 30/31.
Repairs including rough grading to eliminate the scarp, and installation of a buried rock drain (French
drain) at the toe had been completed prior to the July 30131 inspection, in accordance with a plan
submitted in MR-63. Final grading with small dozer is warranted to break up clods and cover over a few
remnant cracks, prior to seeding later this year. The Division had been notified of this slump prior to the
April inspection.
