• (Page 2) •
MINE ZD # OR PROSPECTING ZD # Dl-83-050
INSPECTION DATE 5 21 97 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS AJW
OBSERVATIONS
This was a normal monitoring inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG. The site is on the
south side of a small unnamed drainage near the Phillips and Sedgwick county line. The site
has been fully reclaimed with the exception of a small stockpile of gravelly material near
county road. The site was nicely regraded and is very well vegetated. The vegetation
consists mostly of smooth bromegrass. The stockpile could be removed with very little
disturbance and once this occurs, the site could receive performance warranty release
The inspector spoke to Mr. Joe Intermill of the Colorado Department of Transportation about
possible release of this pit. Mr. Intermill indicated that the state would like to receive
full release on this pit, however, they were concerned about the remaining material
stockpile. Phillips County has a gravel pit located just north and across the creek from
this state pit, and they expressed an interest in removing the material and possibly
transferring the permit to Phillips County as it appears there is additional unmined resource
available and their own pit is nearing exhaustion. Mr. Intermill was informed that the
county would probably be willing to remove the material, and once it is gone, they could
apply for performance warranty release or, they could discuss the possibility of transferring
the permit to Phillips County as is.
This concluded the inspection.
I 6 E Contact Address
NAME Joe Intermill
OPERATOR Colorado Division of Hiahwavs
STREET 1420 2nd Street
CITY/STATE/ZIP Greeley.
