However, documentation of evidence submitted to DMG is
insufficient to support or disprove the claim that the damage was caused by blasting events at the White Banks Mine.
The permittee for the White Banks Mine recently receive County authorization to operate throughout the winter. Additionally,
DMG has received information regarding damage to homes on either side of the Scheder residence, all of which reportedly lie
on a fault line. In light of this information, DMG will re-evaluate the approved blasting plans for the mine, to ensure they remain
adequate to protect offi-site structures including the Swiss Village Community well, water system and residences, from damage
due to blasting at the mine.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243-6368.
I & E Contact Address
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE/ZIP
Robert Congdon
Avalanche Creek Marble and Alabaster L.L.C.
PO.
