The sign includes the name of the pit, the name
of the operator, and the pemrit number assigned to the pit by the Division.
2. Compliance Problem #2: Involves the stabilization of the topsoil stockpiles, and
proof of such should be provided to the Division.
• According to County Commissioner, Ronald Rehfeld, the operator, Cheyenne
County, intends to plant adequate ground cover as is recommended in the
approved reclamation plan in order to stabilize the stockpiles. To date,
Cheyenne County has experienced very harsh, cold, and dry winter weather
conditions, which have prohibited the operator from planting adequate ground
cover that would actually germinate. It is the intention of planting sufficient
ground cover at the Munch Pit once weather conditions pemut, and proof of
such will be provided to the Division.
If you have any further questions or concerns regarding these Cheyenne County gravel pits, please
call our office at (719)-767-5872. Thank you very much for your patience with this matter.
Sincerely,
~Q~~caw-exX-
I,ara Crowell
Administrative Assistant
