The inspection report observed that the 25 foot buffer berm that
separated the North Tafr Hill Expansion Pit (Permit No. M-2001-051) and the Home Office Pit
had been mined through, creating one lazge pit.
In order to remain in compliance with the approved reclamation plan for both pits, Lafarge will
backfill to reestablish the 25 foot buffer berm between the Home Office Pit and North Tafr Hill
Expansion Pit. Furthermore, the mining plan will be amended to reflect the additiona10.38 acres
of land that was disturbed by mining through the berm. The reclamation plan for the pit will also
be revised to allow for silt storage and wetland creation on the western edge of the pit and open
water on the remaining eastern edge of the pit All adjacent landowners within 200 feet of the
mining activity will be notified of the mining and reclamation plan amendments as well. A
technical revision amendment regarding the above mine and reclamation plan changes and a
revised Mine Plan Map and Reclamation Plan Map will be submitted to the Division.
Lafarge would also like to request a 30 day extension of the June 1, 2006 submittal deadline for
the technical revision amendment. This would move the submittal deadline to July 1, 2006.
Please feel free to contact Eric Reckentine at 970-407-3620 with any further comments or
questions.
Sincerely,
'emu--C J vG~`~-' ° ~
Noel Weisenbacher
Mapping/Weed Specialist
LAFARGE WEST, INC.
10170 Church Ranch Way, Suite 200_Wastminster, Color_ado_80021
ieT€p one'~303j8bT-4(f0 Facsimile: (303)657-4037
