III. Comments -Compliance <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of <br />observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforce- <br />ment actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting <br />the enforcement action. <br />On December 2, 1993 a complete inspection was conducted at the Grassy Gap <br />mine. This mine is a bond forfeited as of this past summer. <br />At the time of the inspection weather conditions changed from snowing to <br />snowing heavily in a brisk wind. The access road, off the county road, was <br />snow covered and impassable by four-wheel drive. The mine was accessed by <br />snowshoe. Weather conditions turned very bad and visibility's were down to 50 <br />feet or less. The road was covered with about 1 foot of snow, and falling snow <br />was wet and sticking to vertical windward surtaces. This inspector was not <br />familiar with the site and with the snow cover and poor visibility, nothing could <br />be discerned. <br />
