III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of Minerals and <br />Geology. No one else was present. The permit for this mine was revoked more than 10 years ago. <br />AML had reclamation work done on the site in September 1994. <br />Vehicle access from Hwy. 160 into the Coal Gulch site was blocked with a cable. The ground was dry. <br />Grasses were beginning to green up on the site. <br />Hvdroloaic Balance <br />There was a trickle of flow into the lower pond. As noted in previous inspection reports, the spillway <br />culvert does not daylight on the outslope of the embankment. <br />Water was flowing through the site from the drainage north of the upper pond <br />Reclamation Success <br />No slope stability problems were evident. Gullying or rilling also did not appear to be a problem <br />
