ORIGINAL-PUBLIC FILE <br />(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-lean-99d <br />INSPECTION DATE: 3J29/ne INSPECTOROS INITIALS: ~- <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site as part of the <br />2004-2005 inspection plan that requires sites to be inspected at least once <br />every four years unless it is a high priority operation. The site is <br />located approximately 1 mile south east of Canon City. Present during the <br />inspection was Miss Denise Gonzales of Fremont Paving and Redi Mix. The <br />entire permit area was walked and inspected. The permit area includes a <br />gravel wash plant with sediment pond, a concrete and asphalt batch plants. <br />Both plants were active at the time of the inspection. A large quantity of <br />both processed and ready to be processed recycled asphalt was noted along <br />the west side of the permit area. <br />Inspected the pit area, it was not active. High walls were stable no <br />problem noted. Inspected the equipment storage area. A number of mining and <br />support equipment were noted scattered through out the storage area. <br />Inspected the well pump station, no problem noted. Operator has the <br />appropriate water substitute supply plan for the wash plant and pond areas. <br />The post mine land use for the area is rangeland. According to Denise, the <br />operator has applied to the county, for a zoning change for the portion of <br />the permit area that is now occupied by the asphalt concrete and office <br />areas to industrial. Once the zoning change is approved, the operator plans <br />to submit an amendment to the Division, to change the post mining land use <br />from range land to Industrial and request an acreage release for these <br />areas.
