MINE ID M-2004-010 INSPECTION DATE: 10/25/2006 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: CMR
The Harrison Street properties mine permit was approved on 4/30/2004, but the financial warranty was never
submitted by Colorado Asphalt Services, Inc. (Applicant) to the Division of Mining, Reclamation and Safety
(Division). It appears that the Applicant was not able to get legal right to enter the site. On October 6, 2006 the
Applicant requested that the Harrison Street Properties 110c application be withdrawn from further
consideration. This inspection was conducted to establish the physical status of the proposed mine site, and to
determine if any mining had commenced on site.
The site is approximately 2100 feet long and 245 feet wide. It's bordered on the north and west by rail lines and
on the south by Harrison Street and a cargo storage yard. The site has a series of historic excavations on the
west end, and has naturally revegetated. The largest trench is approximately 15 feet deep, 40 feet across, and
100 feet or more long. Most of the middle of the site is open or has miscellaneous vehicles and equipment
stored on it. The middles section also has some historically excavated areas, and some associated overburden
piles. The east side is currently being overgraded and leveled. Fill material including crushed asphalt, are
being brought onto the site.
While there was not apre-operational inspection conducted on this site, it does not appear that any mining
activities have occurred on the site recently. Based on these observations and after review of the permit file,
the Division recommends that the Applicant's request for withdraw of this 110c permit application from any
further review or other Division action be approved.
Inspection Contact Address
NAME: Bmce Girvan
OPERATOR: Colorado Asphalt Services, Inc.
STREET: P.O.
