The pond was not discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond
embankment was well vegetated and appeared to be stable. There were no
erosional problems on the pond embankment.
-The ditch from the prep plant bench to pond DP-1 appeared to be stable at the
time of the inspection. There did not appear to be any erosional problems in the
ditch.
-The rock check dam SAE at transfer tower two (that was "blown-out" at the last
inspection) has been repaired. There was no problem with off-site sedimentation or
off-site impacts due to this SAE being "blown-out".
-The roadside ditches along the mine access road, overland conveyor road and
haul road to the refuse pile appeared to be stable and well maintained.
Processing Waste: Refuse Pile RP-1 was well vegetated and appeared to be stable at
the time of the inspection.
- Refuse Pile RP-2/3/4 was not actively being worked at the time of the inspection (it is
not used during the winter months). There is still extensive gullying on the east side of
the pile that will need to be fixed as soon as conditions permit. There was no water
pooling on the top of the pile and there did not appear to be any springs or seeps
coming from the pile.
- Refuse was being stockpiled in the temporary stockpile area on the southeast
portion of Refuse Pile RP-5a. The pile appeared to be stable at the time of the
inspections. There was no water pooling on the top of the pile and there did not
appear to be any springs or seeps coming from the pile.
