III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the New Horizon Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the DMG. <br />Aerial photographs were taken on November 23, 2005. Weather conditions were cleaz and sunny <br />at the time of the flight. Mike Boulay of the DMG reviewed the aerial photographs. <br />Fifteen photographs were taken during the flyover. Mining and reclamation activities were <br />underway at the time of the flight. No problems were noted in any of the aerial photographs. <br />Roads <br />Mine site roads were dry and appeazed well maintained and in good condition. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />Sedimentation Ponds 007, 008, 009, and 012 were visible in the photographs. Ponds 009 and <br />012 were dry. Ponds 007 and 008 were both retaining significant amounts of water. Pond inlets <br />and Embankments appeazed stable. No problems were noted at any of these sediment pond <br />locations. <br />Sup port Facilities <br />The shop, wazehouse and storage azeas were viewed. From the photos, these facilities and <br />perimeter azeas of the site appeazed to be maintained and no problems were identified. <br />.\ <br />
