No one represented
the operator during the field inspection. Bill Bear represented the operator during the records check.
The area had received about 2.5 feet of snow a couple of weeks ago and a much smaller amount over
the weekend. The entire mine site had about 1.5 feet of snow cover at the time of the inspection..
Roads
The entrance road was covered in snow but was passable on foot. The bridge was intact and the front
gate was open.
Signs and Markers
The mine 1D sign was up at the entrance and contained the correct information. The disturbed area
markers were covered in snow.
Hydrologry_
The sediment pond was covered in snow. The Edward Mine portal spring treatment pond was covered
in snow as well. The water surface was snow covered and was at its normal discharge level. The pond
was discharging at about 20 gpm.
The other sediment control structures were covered in snow.
Facilities
There were no problems observed with the office building.
Slides
There was no evidence of recent slides within the disturbed area at the mine site. However, the large
slide to the west of the mine site disturbed area continues to slowly move.
c:/word/bear3/insp0104
